    Otto Amborse Graff, 76, of 2122 Cottage Grove Meadows SE, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1993, in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Granville, by the Rev. Clem Currans. Burial:St. Joseph Cemetery, Granville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where rosaries will be recited at 5 and 8, and a Scripture wake service begins at 7:30.

    Survivors include two sons, Gary and his wife, Linda, of Alameda, Calif., and Jim and his wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Florence Miller of Granville and Bernice Hassman of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

    In addition, Mr. Graff leaves many friends in the Cedar Rapids area. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carlyn; their infant son, Joseph; and seven brothers and sisters.

    Mr. Graff was born April 26, 1917, on a farm near Granville, the eight child of John and Catherine Bunkers Graff. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Alton, in 1935, and he married Carlyn Doud of Oyens on June 10, 1940. The couplebought a farm near Milford and they resided there for seven years before moving to town, where Mr. Graff worked as a carpenter for many years. While in Milford, Mr. Graff was active in Knights of Columbus, Youth Baseball Program, St.Joseph's Church and other community activities. He also served on the City Council for three years.

    In 1966, the couple moved to Cedar Rapids where Mr. Graff was again involved in the construction business. From 1971 until he retired in 1982, Mr. Graff was employed in the maintenance department of St. Luke's Hospital. In 1990, he andMrs. Graff celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in California with their sons and families.

    He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family.

    Oyens, Iowa--Carlyn Mary Graff, 75, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Oyens, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1992 at her residence in Cedar Rapids after and extended illness.

    Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens, with the Rev. Timothy Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Granville. Visitations will be 2-9 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home inCedar Rapids, with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m. Visitations will continue after 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a Scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m. at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.

    Mrs. Graff, the former Carlyn Doud, was born Aug. 6, 1917, at Oyens, daughter of Jacob and Kathryn (Orban) Doud. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Remsen in 1935, and from Samuels Cosmetology School in Sioux City in 1937. Shemoved to Granville and owned and operated a beauty shop until her marriage to Otto Graff June 10, 1940. They moved to Milford where she was active with the Catholic Daughter of America, the Catholic Foresters, and various communityactivities. In 1966, they moved to Cedar Rapids and lived there since. In 1990 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in California with their sons.

    Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Gary and Linda of Alameda, Calif, and Jim and Linda of Cedar Rapids; two brothers and their wives, Ralph and Margaret Doud of Grand Island, Neb., and V.J. and Jund Doud of Le Mars,Iowa; a sister and her husband Luella and Merle Delperdang of Sioux City, and five grandchildren.

    Mrs. Catherine Graff of Granville passed away at her home Monday, September 29 after and illness of two months.

    Funeral services will be held Thurdsay, October 2, at St. Joseph's Church in Granville. Solemn Requiem Mass will be sung by Rev. J. J. Dalhoff, with Msgr. Schemmel of Remsen acting as Deacon and Father Sylvester Grady of Schaller asSubdeacon. Father Clemons Knobbe will be Master of Ceremonies. Bearers will be Adolph Fischer, Arnold Nemmers, Anton Hunt, Frank Beckman, Jerome Grady and Joseph Blatt. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Granville.

    Mrs. Graff had lived in the Granville area most of her life, coming there as a child. Her parents were Henry Bunkers and Barbara Youngbluth Bunkers. She was born October 10, 1879, in Iowa and passed away at the age of 61 years, 11months and 19 days. On February 20, 1900, she was married to John w. Graff by Father Stromberg, the ceremony taking place at Granville. Mr. Graff preceded her in death on April 5, 1925. One daughter Geraldine died on December 8, 1923.

    Surviving are four sons and five daughters: Joseph of Spirit Lake, Barbara (Mrs. J. S. Jacobs) of Granville, Florence (Mrs. A. J. Miller) of Granville, Milo of Granville, Gertrude (Mrs. R. B. Schilmoeller) of Granville, Magnus ofHospers, Bernice (Mrs. E. J. O'Herron) of Storm Lake, Otto of Granville and Charlotte (Mrs. Bert Ballard) of Granville; her mother, Mrs. Barbara Bunkers of Granville, three brothers: John Bunkers of Garretson, S.D., Anton Bunkers ofMadison, Minn., and Emil Bunkers of Dell Rapids, S.D.; two sisters: Mrs. Joseph Bachman of Granville and Edmunda Bunkers of Des Moines; also 21 grandchildren.

    Mrs. Graff was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of the Catholic Church and was a woman held in the highest esteem by all.
