Obituary: Trudy Schilmoeller

Trudy (Gertrude) M. Schilmoeller of rural Algona, formerly of Granville, died Tuesday, July 19 at Mason City after a short illiness of cancer.

The funeral Mass was celebrated by Rev. Ben Jensen on Friday in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with the Geilenfeld-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Service in charge.

Trudy Graff, daughter of John and Catherine Bunkers Graff, was born in Granville on Oct. 14, 1909. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy iin Alton and attended business school in Sioux City. She worked for an attorney in Orange City.

Trudy was married to Raymond Schilmoeller at Granville on Jan. 18, 1932. The Schilmoellers farmed for a time in the Granville area and in the spring of 1943 they moved to Algona where they also farmed. Mrs. Schilmoeller worked 17 years for Hutzell's School and Office Supply in Algona, retiring in 1972.

She was a member of St. Cecelia's Church, C.D. of A., the Legion of Mary, Kossuth County Hospital Auxiliary and active in the Algona Senior Citizens for which she was a trustee of the Center.

She is survived by her husband, Ray and four children; Cordell of Atlanta, Ga., Carol (Mrs. George) Hemmen of Algona, Cecil of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Lloyd of Algona; 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a brother Otto Graff of Cedar Rapids, and two sisters, Florence Miller of Granville and Bernice Hassmann of Warner Robins, Ga.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
