    Martin Clary Dies at Home of Son

    Death Occurs Wednesday Afternoon After Short Illness--Was 74 Years of Age.

    The death of Martin V. Clary occurred Wednesday afternoon, October 17th, at the home of his son, George, in this city. Death comes after a short illness and was due to the complications of old age.

    Martin V. Clary was born in Ohio on October 28, 1849 and at his death was past 74 years of age. As a young man he came with his parents to Perham, Minn. He was married to Miss Susan McNulty and engaged in farming at Perham until 1895when they came to Melrose. Mr. Clary conducted a saloon here for three years. Mrs. Clary died in Perham in 1905. From here he went to Summit, S. D. and conducted a pool hall until three years ago when he returned here and made his homewith his son, George.

    The deceased is mourned by seven children, Miss Cora and George of this city, I. F. Clary of Skykomish, Wash.; Mrs. Ed Meyer of Regina, Sask., Canada; Mrs. Charles Braun of Pasco, Wash.; Miss Gladys Clary of Buhl and Mrs. David McGeorgeof Coleraine. He is also mourned by a brother, John at Staples.

    At this writing the date for the funeral to be held at the St. Patrick church here has not been set.

    Death of Mrs. Clary

    Perham Bulletin: Mrs. Martin Clary, a former resident of this place, died at her home in Eagle Bend, Friday night, after a short illness. The remains were brought to Perham Sunday morning, the funeral occurring in the afternoon, fromSt. Henry's church of which deceased was a devout member. Mrs. Clary was a daughter of Mr. Joseph McNulty, and leaves besides a devoted husband, a son and daughter and several brothers and sisters. She was of lovable disposition, a kindand devoted wife and mother, and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. As a neightbor and friend she was without a peer, and was ever ready to help the sick and distressed. The sympathy of a large circle of friends is extended to theheart broken relatives.

    Joseph McNulty Perham Village

    One of the pioneer residents of Perham died at his home there on Feb. 16, 1906. He was 79 years of age and was in the employ of the N. P. R. R. for 25 years.

    Obit:
    Joseph McNulty, annoucement of whose illness appeared in last weeks Bulletin, died at his home on the north side of the track, on Wednesday night, after the paper had gone to press. Deceased was one of the early pioneers of this placehaving been an employee of the N.P. Company for the past thirty years, most of the time at this place. He was a kindly gentleman, grealty beloved by all who knew him, for his many deed of charity. Brights disease was the direct cause ofdeath, he having been a sufferer for several years. He leaves seven children to mourn his loss - five daughters and two sons, who have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. The funeral was held from St. Henryschurch, of which deceased was a de vout member, on Saturday the remains being followed to their last resting place by a larger number of sorrowing friends.

    Death of Joseph McNulty

    After an illness of two weeks duration Joseph McNulty, of Perham, departed this life on the night of the 14th inst. The cause of his illness and death being kidney disease.

    Deceased was born in Ireland 79 years ago. He emigrated to the United Stated in 1845, when but a young man, and made his home in New York City for 13 years. In 1858 he came west, settled in Wisconsin, where he lived for 17 years. Fromthere he moved to Minnesota, settling at Perham, where he and his family have lived ever since. For 25 years he was employed by the Norther Pacific Railway Company to run the pump for their tank at that station and the last few years ofhis life he had charge of the gates for the railroad crossing.

    His wife preceded him to the grave about six years ago, and his loss is mourned by five daughters, one son and one son-in-law. There names and place of residence are as follows: McCormick McNulty, of Foley; Alice McNulty of Perham; Mrs.L. D. Hendry, of Frazee; Sadie McNulty, of Perham; Mrs. L. E. Moss, of St. Paul; and son-in-law, Martin Cleary, of Eagle Bend, Minn. Besides these there are twenty grand children and three great grand children.

    The funeral ceremony was held on Saturday from the Catholic church at Perham and was conducted by Rev. Fr. Shaut.

    The sypmathy of the community is extended to the sorrowing relatives of the deceased.

    MCNULTY--In Perham, Saturday morning, August 26, 1899, Alice the beloved wife of Josephy McNulty, in the 69th year of her age.

    Mrs. McNulty was born in Dromore, Ireland, June 24, 1830, coming to America May 15, 1847, and was married in New York, November 7th, 1840(?). With her family she removed to Perham, twenty-four years ago, and has been a resident sincethat time. On the 31st day of October, 1892, she was stricken with paralysis, and has been a patient sufferer since that date. Surrounded by loving daughters and a devoted husband, she has been patiently cared for, everything being doneto relieve her sufferings. About eight weeks ago she suffered another stroke and since then has been compelled to keep to her bed. She had been rapidly failing for the past week and when the angel of death came, it found her ready andwilling to go. She died as she had lived, a devout Catholic.

    Deceased was a lovable and affectionate disposition, and gathered about her friends that are loth to give her up. She was always ready to aid and assist the poor and distressed. She was possessed of that trait of character, that to knowwas to love. She is survived by an aged husband and eight children, six of whom are girls, all being present at the funeral with the exception of one son, whose address was unknown at the time. The family is heartbroken at the loss oftheir loved one.

    The funeral occured from St. Henry's church, Monday morning, and the remains were followed to their last resting place by number friends, who extend to the bereaved family their heartfelt sympathy.
