    Otto Amborse Graff, 76, of 2122 Cottage Grove Meadows SE, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1993, in St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Granville, by the Rev. Clem Currans. Burial:St. Joseph Cemetery, Granville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where rosaries will be recited at 5 and 8, and a Scripture wake service begins at 7:30.

    Survivors include two sons, Gary and his wife, Linda, of Alameda, Calif., and Jim and his wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Florence Miller of Granville and Bernice Hassman of Warner Robbins, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

    In addition, Mr. Graff leaves many friends in the Cedar Rapids area. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carlyn; their infant son, Joseph; and seven brothers and sisters.

    Mr. Graff was born April 26, 1917, on a farm near Granville, the eight child of John and Catherine Bunkers Graff. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Alton, in 1935, and he married Carlyn Doud of Oyens on June 10, 1940. The couplebought a farm near Milford and they resided there for seven years before moving to town, where Mr. Graff worked as a carpenter for many years. While in Milford, Mr. Graff was active in Knights of Columbus, Youth Baseball Program, St.Joseph's Church and other community activities. He also served on the City Council for three years.

    In 1966, the couple moved to Cedar Rapids where Mr. Graff was again involved in the construction business. From 1971 until he retired in 1982, Mr. Graff was employed in the maintenance department of St. Luke's Hospital. In 1990, he andMrs. Graff celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in California with their sons and families.

    He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family.
