21581 | FRANK BUNKERS IS SUMMONED ----- FORMER RESIDENT PASSED AWAY AT GRANVILLE--DIED QUITE SUDDENLY ----- Dropped Over Dead Result of Heart Failure While in Barn Yard. Frank Bunkers, who was born in this community some 40 years ago, died quite suddenly at his farm home near Granville last week. Mr. Bunkers will be well remembered by his scores of friends and acquaintances in western Dubuque county, whowill regret to hear of his demise. The Remsen Bell-Enterprise in its current issue says the following regarding the death of Mr. Bunkers: Frank Bunkers, a prominent farmer in the vicinity of Granville, and a cousin of the Bunkers family of this community, died suddenly last Wednesday morning while at work about his barn yard. His death was due to heart failure. He was 44years old, and is survived by his widow and six young children. Mr. Bunkers had not experienced any feeling of illness until the fatal attack came. He was up early in the morning and had planned to help his neighbor shell corn that day. He went to the barn yard to drive some horses into the barnbefore leaving, and suddenly collapsed in the presence of two of his little boys. The lads summoned help, but Mr. Bunkers passed away before a physician arrived. The deceased was a son of the late Henry Bunkers, who farmed near Granville for many years and who died several years ago. He was born on a farm near Dyersville, Iowa, 44 years ago, and came to Granville, with his parents, when he wasstill a small child. The family home has been near Granville ever since. After his marriage, Frank went to farming in Minnesota, returning to take charge of the home place after the death of his brother, Otto, two years ago. The latterdied as the result of an accident while he was cutting meat at his home after butchering some hogs for family use. He accidentally inflicted a wound on himself with a knife, which caused his death a short time later. The funeral of Frank Bunkers was held at Granville last Saturday morning, with services in St. Joseph's Catholic church, and was conducted by the Rev. Father Gerlemann. Remsen relatives who attended the last sad rites are: Mayor and Mrs. B. Bunkers, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Bunkers, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bunkers, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Deitering and Mrs. John T. Schultz, Mrs. John Delperdang of Oyens was also inattendance. This appeared in the Dyersville Commercial Dec. 9, 1926 issue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Bunkers, Frank Peter (I3105)
