Obituary | after 3 Nov 1989 | Lucy Anna Wallace, 91, Lake Park, died Friday, Nov. 3, 1989, at the Lake Park Care Center. Services were 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the United Methodist Church, Spirit Lake, Rev. Nenrietta Klarenbeek officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Katheryn Batman, organist, and the congregation san "What A Fried We Have In Jesus," and "How Great Thou Art," Bill and Jackie Carpenter sang "Does Jesus Care" and "In the Garden." Pallbearers were Dennis Wallace, Mark Wallace, Greg Wallace, Doug Wallace, Merle Wallace, Jerald Wallace, Keith Wallace, Steve Wallace, Mike Wallace, Ron Brown and Mike Jungers. Mrs. Wallace was born Dec. 15, 1898, in Pocahontas County to James and Anna Reha Vodraska. The family moved near Montgomery when she was seven. She attended rural school near Montgomery. She married Willis J. Wallace Nov. 15, 1920 at Milford. They farmed near Montgomery until Mr. Wallace died in May, 1951. She married Joseph Graff Sept. 29, 1962 and they made their home in Montgomery. Mr. Graff died in 1981. Mrs. Wallace was a member of the Montgomery Methodist Church and later the Spirit Lake United Methodist Church. She was Montgomery postmaster for 17 years and was a member of the Diamond Lake Homemakers Club, was a 4-H leader and in 1919 she was the women's corn husking champion. She enjoyed making quilts and sewing for grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Lynn and his wife, Loraine and Dean and his wife Ann, all of Spirit Lake; daughter-in-law, Melba Wilson, Wallilngford; grandchildren, Merl, Jerald, Keith, Steve, Mike, Greg, Doug, Dennis and Mark Wallace, Bonnie Gross, Jane Buanovich, Cathie Vancura, connie Leimer, Krisi Cooper, Ron Brown, and Mike Jungers; sisters, Anna Whaley and Louise Tuttle; and one brother Wence Vodraska. She was preceded in death by two husbands,n one sone, one brother and one sister. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake. Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
